The third round of the year took place at the TT Circuit Assen after Thursday’s Media Event crowded DJ session.

Loris Baz stole the show in the Tissot-Superpole by claiming the first slot on the grid. The Frencman looked confident for race day.

But it was Sylvain Guintoli to edge out the rest of the field in race 1, with Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea completing the podium. Under the heavy rain of race 2 it was Pata Honda’s Rea to come out on top, for the first time in the season.

Michael van der Mark had a long-awaited maiden WSS win by crossing the line in first place in front of his home crowd, who went ecstatic also for Kevin Valk’s STK1000 race victory. In the STK600 it was Finland’s Niki Tuuli to step atop the podium.
